When you’re planning your front entrance, one of the most important aspects is the driveway surface. There are plenty of different options to choose between, including concrete, gravel, tarmac or block paving.
The most common of these options in the UK is concrete because it’s durable and easy to maintain, but there can be some downsides. For example, it can crack over time, whilst it’s not the most decorative surface. With tarmac driveways, you get a more modern look, but poor weather conditions can create divots or potholes over time. Block paving is probably the most expensive option but there are plenty of designs to choose between, and it works well for modern and traditional homes. Gravel is a good cost effective surface for your drive, and again there are plenty of different stones to choose between, depending on the size and colour you would like. As an example, you may want to choose a tone that complements the colour of your bricks.
